Glanzmann’s Thrombasthenia During Pregnancy: Case Report and Literature Review

Glanzmann’s thrombasthenia (GT) is an uncommon congenital disease due to a qualitative or quantitative anomaly of the glycoprotein complex GPIIb/IIIA, resulting in defective platelet aggregation. In pregnant women, this bleeding disorder could lead severe haemorrhages and may require aggressive treatment with combined therapy, including concentrates, anti-fibrinolytics recombinant activated coagulation factor VII (rFVIIa). Therefore, scheduled plan for obstetric haematological management should be set advance. Close clinical observation, laboratory monitoring immediate access pro-haemostatic therapies are essential, leading lower rates postpartum haemorrhage. A 35-year-old White woman was followed during pregnancy. multidisciplinary meeting gynaecologists, obstetrics, haematologists anaesthesiologists arranged unexpected antepartum haemorrhages, method delivery care.
